26.08.2021

Igor Mazepa, investment banker, CEO and Owner of Concorde Capital investment company, shares his views with Liga.net about transformations the Ukrainian business has seen and things Ukrainians should change for their future as the country marks its 30th independence anniversary.

He has joined a Liga's project dedicated to Ukraine's 30-year anniversary of independence.

How has business changed over 30 years of Ukraine's independence?

Igor Mazepa emphasised that many things had seen change: the data transfer rate, means of communication, and market infrastructure. Mr Mazepa also focused on the compliance system in Ukrainian banks, saying they have the most stringent compliance requirements in the world.

What would Igor Mazepa advise himself when he was a beginner?

I have nothing to regret. Experiments you do actually add value to your business idea.

Why is Igor Mazepa doing business now?

This is what drives and inspires me. Surely, money is important, but it is not the main thing. I reflect on what I can do as a businessman in addition to growing my fortune. Therefore, I join social projects that change the country for the better.

What would Igor Mazepa change in Ukraine?

Ukrainians should change their way of thinking. Because the northern neighbour, heat outside, poor regulation, and other such things are all secondary. The most important things are our self-confidence and readiness to change our life.
